This time instead of the high tea, we decided to order:
- Devonshire Tea (Scone Basket) – two scones, baked on the premise, double thick cream and one gourmet jam, served with a drink of choice (12.5).
- Ploughman’s Lunch – Freshly baked cheese scones, served with vintage cheddar, salami, ham, ploughman’s chutney, fig & ginger jam, butter, dates and apple wedges (15).
- Nanna’s Apple Pie tea and rose hip tea (4.5 each).
The cherry and almond scone, and the cheese scones in the ploughman’s lunch were both very impressive. I would order these in a heartbeat again. The Ploughman’s lunch was very satisfying, and I particularly enjoyed the sweet/savoury combination of flavours.
After trying ‘nanna’s apple pie’ tea, it has become my new favourite tea. So fragrant, it almost makes you not miss the real thing… (almost). Well worth trying.
A very recent expansion is their ‘take-away’ scones, cream and jam from the shop. It looks so cute! The Tea Cosy also have a pop up stall at the rocks market which sell their take-away range. I am looking forward to trying it.
