Green Pumpkin is a boutique Japanese bakery with some really intricate and unique desserts.
I first tried them when I was at Kabe no Ana having lunch, and Green Pumpkin’s desserts where on the menu at a discounted rate with any main meal purchased.
We ordered the:
- Chocolate Royale (chocolate and blueberry cake)
- Chiboust Aux Fruits Rouge (strawberry and raspberry mousse cake)
- Yuzu roll cake
All three were very well done. Notably the dollop of cream on the Chocolate Royale is light and airy and almost like marshmallow pillow consistency, which I really enjoyed.
With the Chiboust Aux Fruits Rouge, the mousse has a light tangy zip from the berries. The lovely thing about this dessert is it’s creme-brulee-like top. It has a sugar layer which cracks nicely as you hit it firmly but gently with a teaspoon.
I’d recommend Green Pumpkin desserts as an end to any meal, or the shop sells beautifully presented cakes for special occasions at around the $30 SGD price point.
