Rhodes Phoenix because of it’s convenient location has become a staple yum cha, brunch haunt on the weekend.
Without fail it is always packed. So my advice is to come early. Come by 11am on Saturdays and 10am on Sundays to be the first patrons in, and not have to wait on average for 30mins – 1hr for a table. Honestly it is worth coming early. The food is always fresh and piping hot.
Love the selection of steamed dumplings; steamed and fried beancurd rolls; squid tentacles, not to be confused with white bait which is slightly paler and not as tasty; sticky rice; char siew sou (triangular pastry with char siew inside); and of course their desserts. I really like the mango sago, mango pudding and beancurd with sugar and ginger syrup – yum!
